Now at new duty stationed and you can see the difference in standards. Cons would be the weather at times. High uptempo. The division is great though. Maintain the standards and you'll do great Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 16 at 2016 2:18 PM 2016-03-16T14:18:52-04:00 2016-03-16T14:18:52-04:00 SSG Trevor S. 1384182

Pros
It's near Nashville and St Louis so you have a few options for weekend trips. There is tons of outdoors activities including fishing in spots featured on some fishing shows. There is also Air Assault school on post.
Cons
A high OPTEMPO with lots of deployments and field training. I don't see it as bad but it does wear on some people. I liked the post and the area. I love Nashville (about an hour south depending on how you drive) and the big mall down there (has a Bass Pro Shop).

The housing on post was fairly nice (NCO area) and convenient for getting to/from PT and work. There are a lot of gates, but Gate 4 (Main Gate) is the only one that is open all the time. The other ones have differing schedules.

There is a brand new Commissary that just got built in 2012. The PX Mall is nice as PX malls go.

There is a Reception Company that you will have to sign into when you get there. Your first week is inprocessing around post. If you are E-5 or above, you are pretty much left alone to accomplish your tasks on your own. If you are E-4 or below and unmarried, you will have to stay in the barracks and do dumb stuff during that week. You will also be led around like a dumb animal for that week.

There is a Green Beans Coffee place at the Airfield Shopette and in the hospital if you are a fan like I am. Always a bonus.

There are a lot of places on the "Black List." You should be able to download it from the official Fort Campbell website. Campbell from Feb 2011- Dec 2014. I have to say I loved being there, granted they do a lot of training for deployments. But it is nothing like being stationed at Ft. Polk with Geronimo. I personal think you will love it at Campbell. If you need anything, hit me up.
