What are the names you use to describe various types of military or vets?

This is an example of what we’d call a TED. "Tough Enlisted Dude." Typically shaved head, dark shades, big gym guy, and a rides the motorcycle everywhere. I've also heard of Officers being called "cake eaters". Great stuff. What are the names you use for the different types of people you run across in the military?

Ring knocker, flange head, mustang, deck ape, black shoe, brown shoe, snipe, lifer, brown bagger, bilge rat, knuckle dragger, open bottom sailor, oil king, water queen, jack o the dust, stew burner, pecker checker, tin bender, Cheng, air boss, pork chop, lamb shop.

Never saw many TED'S. And I was a gator sailor.

These days all of my terms are focused towards types of Vets you see. Bro vets being the frat type vets who all wear 5.11 pants and hats with a beard and try to act like they speak on all topics military.

You have the professional veterans who are generally the guys who hated every day they were in but are incapable of identifying as anything but a Vet after they get out.

You have the exile vets who for whatever reason don't like to speak about their service or claim military service at all.

You have the fully retired guys who iron their jeans and wear assorted bits of Uniform items into their every day wear clothing.

And you have the scammers or used to coulds who make random claims that make no sense. Like when you ask a guy what rank he was when he got out and he says "Well technically I was a Sgt but I never got the warrant so on paper I'm a Cpl". Like c'mon dude

Nothing special for Vets. Just what they were when they were. But the navy has some for others. Marine is of coarse Jar Head. Army Ground Pounder, Air Force Civilian. etc

I call my Army buddy Dog Face or Army Boy. He calls me Air Jar Head or Fly Boy. My other Army buddy I called Captain (retired Captain) and my former Forman at work.

"BROVET": A fulltime, professional veteran with no personality to speak of outside of identifying as a veteran. Will bring it up at every conversation, whether relevant to the topic or not.
