Doubling down on being a bookworm. Also being at Bay Meadows and Golden Gate Fields on weekday afternoons instead of the Presidio of San Francisco Finance Office. Also quitting Berkeley and Michigan three times. Seriously the hiring manager didn't ask any interview questions and this is what he ended up bringing into his 1979 cigarette and necktie office. The cigarettes aren't legal in California workplaces anymore. I put all but my army neckties in a toilet in 1987.
