We have a card that is in partnership with AMTRAK. We like train travel a have a few long free trips.

It really depends on what you want. That coupled with what it takes to get the rewards. And as said pay it off every month. Credit card interest rates are insane.

Barclaycard is good for travelers. 2X points on travel purchases, hotels and restaurants. Only redeemable for travel purchases, though.

Take a look at the new Navy Federal Credit Union top tier card. 2% cash back on all purchases 3% back on travel. Nothing I'm aware of beats 2% on all spending. However, there is a $49 annual fee. It would beat any 1% card w/o an annual fee if you spend more than $4,900.
