The biggest obstacle that I have found in the past is truly understanding what you want to do before you start putting resumes out everywhere. The worst answer you can give a recruiter is that you just want a job. Please try to have a focus and well planned out attack of how you fit within that space and even the company your speaking with.

You may want to consider attending a Hiring Our Heroes event as they place throughout the United States all throughout the year. This is a great start to see what types of companies are hiring within your area and it will allow you to start a preliminary discussion with a representative, sometimes recruiter from the company. It's always great to meet someone that may invitually be your boss as well, so you know exactly what they are looking for and you get the tough answers up front.

Class A CDL Drivers are in heavy demand these days, so you can find many companies that are interested in hiring someone with Trucking Experience in the Military. Please review all interested companies wisely as they may make a lot of promisses that won't hold much water.

Overall I would suggest that you use all resources available and ASK QUESTIONS. As a recruiter I will never stop a candidate from asking questions as it shows that they are truly interested in the position and ready to move forward in the process!

I wish everyone the best of luck! Please send me a note, or request to connect and I will be glad to assist you in any way that I can!
