What are the barracks at Fort hood like for single soldiers?

Well I can tell ya about North Ft Hood! Old as hell but they are warm/cool dry and a bed! Lockers! If ya get the tents, well! And then there are the new multi million dollar ones by the chow hall! Out side looks great they just opened them so should be awesome!

Mid 80s ours were like Air Force dorms. 6th Cavalry (air cav near the airfield). Probably need renovating by now but bathrooms in the rooms - more comfy and less drafty than old WWII barracks were. Off post is always a good choice.

They aren't too bad on the 1st Cav side. As of right now, there are two types of Barracks. The fully enclosed Barracks normally fit 2people in one room and has a stove top, and the barracks with the walkways outside typically have two rooms with a common area. They are really decent in size and livability. But outside of 1CAV, other units have terrible living conditions, on Ft Hood. From what I hear the reception Barracks are in better condition.
