The major was French so it was pronounced Horneigh and I believe the Cpt was promoted to Major Dick before I left Riley. Explained that his parents were illegal immigrants, and when they had him (in the U.S.), they wanted to avoid detection, and for some reason thought changing his last name to "America" would accomplish that. He said that not long after he got his commission, he considered changing his name to his father's (Hernandez), but his ROTC mate pointed out that after a few years, he would be Captain America.
