In my last platoon we had two Jason Cox, based on their height we called them Big Cox and Little Cox. Later on towards my EAS we gained a platoon commander Captain Crunch.

My husband and I were Majors at the same time. We were the Majors Lay. My husband had a change of command where he was replaced by Major Midget, she was about 4'10". We also ran into Captain Hook, who was on his way to become the Air Attaché in the Ivory Coast.

In Panama I worked with a Captain Dooda. Every once in a while after answering the phone I would hear him explaining "yes, like in the song All The Dooda Day." In Korea I was stationed with a Lt. Marvel but wasn't around when he made Captain. I would have loved to hear him answer the phone.

Had a PFC Slaughter in AIT along with a PV2 Dick. Our Female DI refused to call him Pv2 Dick so he became PV2 Richard. At Ft Riley in one of our Bat S shops there were Cpt Dick and Maj Horney. The major was French so it was pronounced Horneigh and I believe the Cpt was promoted to Major Dick before I left Riley. Believe it or not I had a living hell with the last name Anderson, I was active duty in 1999 when the "Matrix" came out and over night I became "Mr Andeeerrrrsoon" to every swinging dick in the unit.

Encountered a "Captain America," once. Explained that his parents were illegal immigrants, and when they had him (in the U.S.), they wanted to avoid detection, and for some reason thought changing his last name to "America" would accomplish that. He said that not long after he got his commission, he considered changing his name to his father's (Hernandez), but his ROTC mate pointed out that after a few years, he would be Captain America. He got out as a Captain, and I remember during his retirement ceremony (he was prior enlisted, made it to Tech before he commissioned), his retirement certificate wasn't done yet because AFPC had to make sure someone wasn't jerking their chain on the rank and name.

had a Ssgt Hurt that headed a dispatch team in South Dakota. They skidded off the road one day and the back & forth with job control was hilarious. JC: anyone hurt? Team: Stand-by - I'll get him. We had a Peppers in basic that I knew would eventually reach Sgt. Also same place had a Herd that on the embroidered name tag resembled HERO that caused quite a furor among unsuspecting TI's

In one platoon we had, Bacon, Hamm, and Coffee. Platoon Sgt. said all we need is eggs and we have Breakfast. When ever he yelled out BREAKFAST those three knew he meant them. Another time we had North, South, East and West. During formation they were placed at their appropriate direction.

While in Basic we had a Pvt Yu ..... DS was amazed when he called out “hey you.... you with the glasses. Pvt Yu even wore glasses. Pvt Yu went running to the front of the formation and the DS stood there silently. I dont think he knew what to say.

In basic there were two brothers from Arkansas. Both named Andrew Lively. They had different middle names. One was Jefferson the other Jackson if I remember correctly. Drills loved to mess with them.

BCT in 1990, we had a legit Bart Simpson. AIT there was a PVT Mills and we joked that if he became a General someday he would be General Mills. After a few weeks, he tells us that his dad is a Major with hopes of being a General.

I actually saw the shop organizational board on board one of the carriers I was on. The lads last name was Pinto, he was a ABE, he was upset when he made 3rd Class Petty Officer from Airman (AN) because the board would no longer list him as Pinto, ABEAN.
