What are some of the best craft beers across the nation to try?

I have gotten into trying craft beers while traveling around the nation and always looking for new ones. Due to the ABC regulations in UT. We don't have the choices or even get to see many of the new brew from other states breweries. I would like to know what some of your favorites are and where they are from in the states. One of my favorites is Bonanza out of ID and several from the Rogue Brewery in OR. We do have some good selections form breweries here in the state, but, you have to go to the breweries to get the good ones. Red Rock brewery and EPIC are two of the local favorite.

GP Brewing "snake handler"
GP Brewing "el gordo"

These are my favorite Alabama brews local to where I currently live.

I have had too many good beers to say what's the best. Untappd is a good app to keep track of beer and discover new beer. I think I am up to 400 different styles of craft beer on there.

Untappd is a good app to use, but my go to reference is BeerAdvocate.com. I used it a lot to find out about styles and to learn as much as I could about different beers. The forums are helpful for general guidance and with regional forums it helps in finding beers where you are.

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is a microbrewery based in Milton, Delaware. Dogfish first opened as a brewpub in downtown Rehoboth Beach, DE in June of 1995, then expanded to the Milton location in 2002. Mammoth Brewing Company in Mammorh Lakes California. Brown ale (Brown trout by name?) And their hefeweizen.

Dogfish is amazing. I don't know what you're talking about Utah not having any good brewery's. Uinta brewing is out of UT and they have two of my favorite brews ever. both at over 9% ABV. Detour and Dubhe are FANTASTIC. And of course all things Shiner.

I recently moved away from a nice pocket of micros. Silver City in Silverdale WA is also a great eatery. Get the kobe beef upgrade for your burger. In Poulsbo WA there is Sound Brewery which tilts heavily towards Belgians. Their Monks Indiscretion will get your attention. Two miles away is Valholl which also has a nice variety.

All is not lost moving to Northern Idaho. I drive into town to Kootenai River Brewing Company in Bonners Ferry for their Two Tail Pale. They also have one of the better patty melts you'll see. 35 minutes south to Ponderay is Laughing Dog Brewery. They invite all well mannered dogs to hang out. With your beer, they give you a dog dish full of human kibble. Bring your own food in if you like.

If you ever get to Southern Cali, Island Brewing in Carpinteria is a great hangout although it sits against the railroad tracks. They're expanding in the building so things are looking up. They are always tinkering with a couple of high octane offerings that make the clock wind backwards.

So many great breweries we'll never get to in a lifetime. Enjoy the journey.

Next time you are in Truckee, CA you should visit a place called 50/50. They used to rotate their local beers every so often. Also, in Seattle, WA, in the Fremont, Ballard, Phinney Ridge or Greenwood neighborhoods there are any number of pubs that serve locally crafted beers.

Chase a Gyro from Mr. Gyro with a cold one!

International beers, I enjoy a Pilsner Urqell from the Cszheck Republic.

If you're ever in the Dallas - Ft. Worth area, come see me at Franconia Brewing Company in McKinney, TX. Also, check out Peticolas Brewing in Dallas. They won Grand National Champion at the 2018 U.S. Open Beer Championships.
