Agree, doesn’t work that way. There is no MOS that works like that, any branch. You get family time when you get it. What expectation do you have for family time. You work until the mission is complete or your CoC releases you.

Danielle Pentecost The responses to date are accurate - regardless of branch, mission comes first. I grew up in a military family and can attest to that fact. Don't take the responses as a negative, since family is important. As long as your priority is family first, then you need to look at the corporate world for employment opportunities rather than the armed forces. Thank you for considering a chance to serve the country.

As a soldier I can't directly address this from personal experience. My uncle was in the Navy and I can tell you to scratch that from the list. It seems to me that you are going into this with the wrong attitude. Your service is to the nation. While your family is important, I can assure you there will be extended absences from the family. To meet your goal, get an hourly job in your hometown. That will be more consistent with your expressed desire
