SGT Private RallyPoint Member5762812<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have been serving in the army for almost 5 years. With all available leave days (67) I will start my ETS leave May 21,2020. The transition office wants me to clear post May 20th and my final stamp May 21st. However, after a 8 month process I have accepted a job within another department with the government with a significant position and must start May 20th. I have tried to exhaust every option but either the Army or the next job will budge. What other options am I not yet using to be able to clear post and be at my job. I heard proxy clear? By the way I’m at Fort Hood.what are my options if the day of my final clear from the installation, I have to be at my new job across the state?2020-04-11T00:20:09-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member5762812<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have been serving in the army for almost 5 years. Is that still allowed? What time do you have to be at work and how long will it take to get there? Texas is big state. Maybe someone else could do the driving and you sleep en route.Response by SGT Robert Pryor made Apr 11 at 2020 1:24 AM2020-04-11T01:24:59-04:002020-04-11T01:24:59-04:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member5762975<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I don't know the process but if I recall correctly I signed something as a company commander so a Soldier could ETS a few days earlier.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 11 at 2020 4:40 AM2020-04-11T04:40:59-04:002020-04-11T04:40:59-04:00MAJ Ken Landgren5765266<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Does your new boss understand the impossibility of that timeline? <br /><br />Try to talk to the chief of the out-process section.Response by MAJ Ken Landgren made Apr 11 at 2020 5:39 PM2020-04-11T17:39:14-04:002020-04-11T17:39:14-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member5765741<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Proxy clearing is when someone clears for you after you leave. You are not authorized to begin leave prior to 21 May, so if you are at your job on 20 May you are AWOL. If you are AWOL with your 67 days of transition leave, your command has 67 days to recall you, retrieve you, cancel your transition leave, and UCMJ, chapter, or court martial you. <br /><br />The issue isn't that you can't clear earlier. The issue is that your leave doesn't begin until after your job does. You legally cannot begin working at your new job until you are on leaveResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 11 at 2020 8:23 PM2020-04-11T20:23:29-04:002020-04-11T20:23:29-04:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member5770583<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'm surprised the government job can't just move your start date to the beginning of the next pay period.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 13 at 2020 6:36 AM2020-04-13T06:36:02-04:002020-04-13T06:36:02-04:002020-04-11T00:20:09-04:00
