What are good options for an MOS that could open doors for the FBI or an intelligence agency (or even CID) after I get out?

I plan on going into us army in a month and i have taken the practice asvab an got a 58 before studying to much,which is only the 4 main subjects not all of them ,which i should score higher, I am studying and preparing for test now though, i have been thinking about trying to go mp or military intelligence but i don't really want to sit at a desk all the time

You could end up sitting at a desk as an MP if your command makes you a dispatcher.

Also, your not even guaranteed to work as a Leo when you become an mp. I spent 3 years with 1ID and never did anything law enforcement while there.

Find a job that interests you. What you did in the Army isn’t as important as being in the Army in general. Law enforcement is looking for folks with specific skills. Almost any MOS will give you those skills. Military law enforcement is so completely different than civilian LE that being an MP will not help you. Besides most MP’s do not do law enforcement duties anyway.

Getting a 4 year degree will help you get hired. All Federal agencies require a bachelors degree to qualify.

Find a MOS that looks interesting, and talk to folks who actually do the job before you sign the papers. Take advantage of the education programs offered by the Army and get your degree while you are still in.

If you are scoring that low, you need some more practice tests and MI is really aiming high. I am in no way saying that you cannot do it but you have to really want it and keep practicing practicing practicing. Federal and civilian law-enforcement agencies do not necessarily seat out soldiers that were in the military police position because they do not want to re-train your thought process. Speak with a recruiter and then get a second opinion

Also consider CID, Criminal Investigations Division. Definitely not only desk work although that is included.

Nearly all have more downtime than you think.... Besides CID I have a feeling that any could lead you towards the FBI if you learn and take steps that they desire from applicants. Infantry cant be beat from a tactics standpoint however may lack in administrative work... what aspects would you like to glean from said Army career besides being generally headed towards a three letter agency job?

35F, pretty much Jason Bourne and James Bond combined.. atleast what my recruiter told me 8 years ago.
