Some good exercises are lat pull downs, pull ups, scapula shrugs while hanging from a bar, and just practicing the grip and a pull up. I would also suggest practice walking fast with a 20 lb kettlebell in each arm for the sprint drag carry event. If you aren’t a weight lifter then you also should start working on how to do deadlifts properly. This way they can learn the proper techniques to perform the various exercises and reduce the chances of injuring themselves. Always go into the fitness test expecting to max it. The good ones are done by fitness trainers, often with military association.
