If you would like to check to see if your records were a part of the data hack you can do so at the Office of Personnel Management website.

The Office of Personnel Management was the target of a cyber intrusion. It resulted in the theft of background investigation records. The information was a result of individuals having provided information for a background check or being included on a background investigation form by a spouse or other significant person.

You may receive a letter notifying you that your records were breached. If you don't know but are worried about it you can check on the provided link.

I got a letter from OPM; it probably came from the background check when I joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary; I retired from the military 14 years ago; never have any other federal involvement since retiring. (Maybe Civil Air Patrol AF Aux might count)

Glad to see the verification site is finally working. I was 98% sure my data had been breached and had not received a letter. When I attempted to use the site several weeks ago, it said we would have to wait until January. This week I finally received my letter.

Currently there are people pretending to deliver wine gift baskets and asking to see drivers license to confirm your age then credit cards for a small balance due, but must return to office to enter at numbers. We have social security numbers on our license and you should already know about credit card numbers

My wife, kids, and myself.. all received letters. I signed up at the site for the 3 years of credit monitoring.. I did find out that my wife opened a Kohl's card with my name on it. Opened a whole new discussion...

Apparently they were and I got a letter for free fraud protection as well. Did any of you sign up for the fraud protection?

My son got the OPM notification. I didn't, but I've been out since 93 and my clearance expired after I left Raytheon in 99.

Just got a letter 2 weeks ago. Need to sign up for the free credit monitoring. This isnt my first (Home Depot was my first) but this involves finger prints. Technology a blessing and a curse.
