We have technology to rule the world but fail at protecting our own borders from terrorism and illegal immigrant. Are we going to build a castle wall to block Mexico? They can still go to Canada then come back down. Are we going to build another wall for the Canadian-Mexican invasion? I say let their employers fill out their workers information, the government just take a higher percentage of their wage since they aren't legal citizens. Make it a profitable choice to be legal citizens or charge employers higher fines for illegal immigrants. If the government just gives them aid for not finding work, we are the fools. They could definitely be of 'use'. I always thought that when I see the articles about fear of drones and that if they were used on the border to find smugglers at least it would be better than big brother stuff. It's just 0's and 1's. However, human are unpredictable.

Then, people tend to blame illegal immigrants for "taking America's jobs", but let's be honest, do you want to pay your orange juice $5 or $25?
I find it pretty hypocrite to recognize capitalism as a mode of sustainment. It's true that we have an issue on immigration, but taxing them doesn't help solve the problem. Most of them only work for a ridiculous wage, are we going to push them to pay to work? I ain't saying it's not the employer fault, but commerce goes both way: you need someone to sell, and somebody else to buy. Too sad we're continuously buying. 1LT Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 21 Jan 2016 22:27:47 -0500 2016-01-21T22:27:47-05:00 Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 22 at 2016 1:03 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/we-have-technology-to-rule-the-world-but-fail-at-protecting-our-own-borders-from-terrorism-and-illegal-immigrant-why?n=1251700&urlhash=1251700

If you want to stop illegal immigration, the best way to do it is with a soft wall.
Go after the employers with fines scalable by number of employees on the payroll, but don't stop there. Fine the hiring managers that knowingly hire illegals in order to get cheaper wages.

For example, Company A, a meat-packing plant, is fount to have 18 illegal workers among 200.
Fine the company $18,000, and the hiring manger(s) $1,800.
A smaller company, like a orange farm, has 25 illegal among 60 employees. They get fined $5,000 and the hiring manager $2,500.
I'll bet the problem gets solved real quick when the hiring guys get hit in the pocketbook.

The companion part of my plan would be to have a worker's permit of sorts that you have to register to get... and pay taxes. When the time is up - say 5 years or so - you go home and reapply or have taken the steps necessary to become a legal resident or citizen.
Fair. Even-handed. And solves the problem.
Vote for me... I'll freaking fix it. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 22 Jan 2016 01:03:31 -0500 2016-01-22T01:03:31-05:00 Response by Capt Seid Waddell made Jan 22 at 2016 1:59 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/we-have-technology-to-rule-the-world-but-fail-at-protecting-our-own-borders-from-terrorism-and-illegal-immigrant-why?n=1251761&urlhash=1251761

PO2 Morton Scisco, the problem isn't so much illegal immigrants as it is the terrorists and gang-bangers that come in with them. The courts stated they still could not use the ‘fruit of the poison tree or bush’ even if obtained by an Allie. And the notes just happened to fall in our people’s hands.. by some source.. These are dangerous people true.. whether they are citizens or not they have to be provided the protection of our constitution. Especially our own citizens. Well.. i’m Sure the alledged ‘real’ foreign agents cheered that decision. .. and the traitorous americans(?)... you all know as innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.. and then there are some domestic American citizen terrorists that the Fed court said Could not be sent to because they were citizens.. prisons are full of bad people ... but are a traitors, domestic terrorists worse? I say pretty much, there was a chance that what they done could’ve caused death.. whether at the scene or by a traitor giving national secrets related to our safety/security on our own shores..
These types can only deserve the worst of human comfort.. dank musty cell with a piece of cardboard to cover the springs and a bucket and a pan.. of course our country is too compassionate to do that..
