The Federal requirements to 'beef up' State issued IDs, i.e., 'Enhanced Licenses' and a move many like New York have taken in incorporating Hunting, Fishing Licenses, Organ Donor etc. on those IDs have given Veterans and Retirees another 'Verified' form of State issued ID.

This is the genesis of the current HR which was sent to the Senate for ALL Veterans to obtain a VA Issued ID Card not simply those enrolled within the VHA.

Great way to verify Title 38 Service and I hope all 50 States, DC and the 5 Territories incorporate into their IDs. It is a very nice concept. My county with in my state has actually started issuing out Veteran ID cards as well. I believe a lot of areas have started doing this. This is even nicer and I feel that it should be adopted nation wide as it eliminates most encounters with the need to carry the old DD-214. Making it easier for us to protect our personal information. Got a little "Armed Forces" stamp on my driver's license now, right beside my organ donor one. I honestly had no idea anyone else did it, but not surprised either. I think it's a great idea as well. If you are due for renewal the cost of the license is dependent of the percentage of VA disability awarded.
