Was wondering if all Texas Veterans knew they could have "Veteran" placed on their driver's license for free?

I think it's a great addition to our official State ID so we don't always have to carry our DD 214 everywhere we go to show our Veteran status. Arizona has similar State laws like Texas. Good for them.

I agree. I'm retired Navy so I do have a retired military ID but I don't always feel like showing that. So I showed Arizona MVD (Motor Vehicle Division) my DD214 and retired military ID and they put the word "VETERAN" on my Arizona driver's license.

A move many states have taken primarily Post 9/11. The Federal requirements to 'beef up' State issued IDs, i.e., 'Enhanced Licenses' and a move many like New York have taken in incorporating Hunting, Fishing Licenses, Organ Donor etc. on those IDs have given Veterans and Retirees another 'Verified' form of State issued ID.
This is the genesis of the current HR which was sent to the Senate for ALL Veterans to obtain a VA Issued ID Card not simply those enrolled within the VHA.
Great way to verify Title 38 Service and I hope all 50 States, DC and the 5 Territories incorporate into their IDs.

SSG Keith Roberson - Absolutely! I think we need to have a 'Resource Tab' that speaks to Benefits BOTH Federal and State that runs the gamut of things like this to Home Loans.
