There isn't much you can do outside of wait. If you have further questions you can contact your state EPM office and they should be able to tell you where you are on the list and if there are any vacancies.Response by CPL Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 18 at 2017 10:06 AM2017-11-18T10:06:17-05:002017-11-18T10:06:17-05:00COL Vincent Stoneking3101530

Honestly, you have 3: Wait, Move units, IRR.
Wait is a crap shoot. No way to advice when/if the manning for the BN will change.
I should point out that (Not knowing CO NG's structure) that "move" might well entail "to another state NG" or "to the USAR." In theory, it could also entail "to another MOS", though I don't think that's something I would pursue.
I should point out that I don't know if ING will work like IRR, but I would bet not, based on my understanding of it.

Separately, you can chose to pursue the "over strength" statement. Is it strength that matters, or being primary in a slot at the next higher grade? I typed a lot more text here, but it was speculation, not actual knowledge, so I deleted it - you'll want to check with a personnelist who is schooled in the promotion system.Response by COL Vincent Stoneking made Nov 18 at 2017 10:25 AM2017-11-18T10:25:03-05:002017-11-18T10:25:03-05:00Lt Col Jim Coe3101665

Find a different unit with MSG open billet you qualify for.Response by Lt Col Jim Coe made Nov 18 at 2017 11:07 AM2017-11-18T11:07:42-05:002017-11-18T11:07:42-05:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member3101871

May have to do an IST to a unit with an open MSG Slot.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 18 at 2017 12:19 PM2017-11-18T12:19:19-05:002017-11-18T12:19:19-05:00CW3 Kevin Storm3102105

First, as an E-7 by know you should know nothing is guaranteed.
Second, how in this day an age of promotion lists, were you going to get a promotion in a unit that is overstretched.
Third, your a senior NCO and don't know how promotions work?
Fourth, again we are all assuming you are NG, how many miles did you say you would travel? If you put down that you didn't want to travel, you are going to be sitting around till next promotion cycle so you can adjust your travel distance.
Fifth, if you are indeed NG, you can't wear a (P) because you haven't been offered a slot.Response by CW3 Kevin Storm made Nov 18 at 2017 2:05 PM2017-11-18T14:05:54-05:002017-11-18T14:05:54-05:002017-11-17T20:40:04-05:00
