Was President Trump's Inauguration speech a message of love, unity and hope for all Americans?

Far removed from the divisive political rhetoric that set the U.S. on fire during the presidential campaign, I seems to me we have witnessed the true Donald Trump on 20170120 - humble, God-fearing, patriot and an unifier. Politics is the mastery of the art of patience and i believe Americans should grant him the benefit of the doubt and see if he wil back his promises with actions.

I am still undecided about the speech and now especially so since it has come to light that he has not written it as he told people he was going to. Especially since Steve Bannon was a part of it.

Why do some find fault in everything he does. He has only been President for one day. Many people use speech writers to better convey their thoughts. I can assure you he played a hand in writing this speech. He read and reread it. One thing you didn't see was a teleprompter. Not even the smartest president's (Clinton and Obama) could do that. He speaks from the heart not from the program. When is the last time you say a politician tear up as he paid respect to veterans. Give it a rest already.

I was moved by the speech. I felt a renewed energy to bring the United States of America together as "United". I felt that finally we had someone as President who is genuinely concerned for everyone, not just a certain class.....I have a renewed hope

IMV, it is the second best inaugural speech I have heard ... JFK's being the best. Short, sweet, didn't pull any punches, and didn't shillyshally away from what he's said before on the campaign trail. This isn't a "bait and switch" president. He, again IMV, established a contract with the American people. Now we'll see how successful he is in fulfilling it ... and coming to us for help when naysayers get in the way.

I do believe it was a message of love and hope. It was a message of unity only to the extent that he was telling everyone that the train is getting ready to leave and encouraging everyone to get on. Not everyone will choose to get on, and those people run the risk of getting run over.

Only those looking to find fault, will have a problem with anything President Trump says or does. As for all those angry woman, protesting and the sorry men accompanying them. Go home and drink your hot COCO, you look so pathetic a bunch of old middle age angry ding dongs crying. Plus got all these young kids, thinking the sky is falling because they have to now get a job. The entitlement spigot has been shut down, no free lunch.
