Am I competitive for the Warrant Officer Board if I have sub-optimal NCOERs that say Promote with Peers or Continue to Challenge?

I reached out to a Warrant Officer Recruiter to see if I would be competitive enough for the Board and I was asked to send my NCOER, STP and College Transcripts to them. So, I did. I Received in response to my Email the Recruiter telling me that I would be able to pass WOBC but because my NCOER senior ratings for the past 3 to 4 years say "Promote with Peers" or "continue to challenge" I would not be competitive enough for the Board. I guess my question is, is this correct? Should I just work towards another year and see what my next one say's? I am at 11 years currently and I've been told that 12 years is the cut off. that would put me at one shot to make it. Its unfortunate to think that a "Promote with Peers" or "continue to challenge" on an NCOER could ruin your chances at trying to excel or take a different path in the military. What are your thoughts?

I don't think you're going to find a better answer to your chances than what the recruiter gave you. However, to quote Wayne Gretzky, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take".

Some things to keep in mind:
● If you have more than 12 years AFS, you can still apply, but you'll have to have to submit a waiver request with your packet.
● If you are a Fully Qualified-Non-Select (i.e., you meet all the eligibility, but weren't selected), then you are automatically enrolled on the next selection board. Additionally, alternates are drawn from the FQ-NS group if a Qualified Selected individual is unable to attended.

So, according to the recruiter your file doesn't make you as competitive as others applying. And??

There is no downside to your submitting a packet. Maybe the next section board has a higher number of candidates they need to select. Maybe less people will apply. Maybe ... maybe ... maybe.

Don't disapprove your own packet - let the board make that decision.

Again, you'll miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

I am not up on this subject as COL Cudworth, but I am in life. One thing life has taught me is "If you don't ask, you won't get". I have seen in life too many people who sit around ringing their hands and saying "Well I don't know, What if it doesn't work out, etc, etc, etc" When doing this they never know what they are missing.
So what happens if you apply and don't get it, will you get thrown out of the Army? NO. You will continue your career as you are. You always need to have that plan A, plan B. If you don't reach out and take those chances you will look back some day and say, "I wonder what if". Don't be that person.
Like I say, I am not a subject matter expert on this matter, but I can give some advise on life.
