This should be important to us all. I was to young for Vietnam, but old enough to grow up with it. Had many of friends who served in it and when I came in back in the early 80s, many of my NCO's were Vietnam Vets.

The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall

Our Wall is a 3/5 scale of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC. This Traveling Memorial stands as a reminder of the great sacrifices made during the Vietnam War.

If you get a chance, there is a Vietnam traveling wall that is now a permanent part of the National Infantry Museum at Ft Benning, GA. This Vietnam traveling wall has all the names on it too accept that it is smaller than the one in DC. Gets a lot of visitors to it daily and especially during BCT graduations.

Got a chance to see the traveling wall several years ago here in Kentucky. It was a humbling experience.

Wife and I travel to D.C. every April to visit the wall. I make graphite and paper shadings off the friends I lost. I cry the whole time I am there but I am not alone. I have hugged many a vet I never met that was at The Wall and we all cry.

I would love to see the traveling wall, I'm sure I can find the touring schedule.

Grew up in the DC area as a kid, been to the wall many times. I always felt the overwhelming presence of Sprit Warriors that call the wall their home. Always felt very humbled by the experience even though I was born in 1961 and too young to serve in Vietnam, I watched everything unfold on TV. Still remember how terribly our Warriors were treated when they came home, if they came home at all! Believe that is why I was driven to serve my country for 33 yrs. Whenever I have the privilege to see a Vet I take the time to thank them for their service!

I have visited the traveling wall 2 times and it brought me to my knees and played a part in triggering PTSD from 40 years ago. Even though I feel the need to visit, it also scares me. The emotions are difficult.
