Outstanding, Glad to hear of an attempt to reclaim their faith from the Extremist, the Zealots. There is a lot of cool stuff and history in the Muslim Faith.

I would be more encouraged if their Imams passionatly denounce violence on the pulpit.

Billboards are as effective as Facebook status updates. People just scroll down for the things that they want to see.

Generally they are deceptive 1SG Private RallyPoint Member. Anybody who has read through the Quran should understand that later Surahs [verses] take precedence over earlier Surahs. Muslims are duty bound to help to bring Islam to be the dominant faith where they live and to help usher in Islamic law [Sharia].
While thankfully many Muslims consider Jihad to be primarily an internal struggle. However those who adhere to the Wahhabi doctrine [al-Qaeda, IS, Boko Horan, etc] consider Jihad to be a struggle against unbelievers and infidels.
Since a doctrine of Islam is deception about one's true intentions 'taqiyya' those who do not adhere to that faith can not really be sure about the intentions of Muslims. That one fact is the most troubling aspect of Islam for me. CW5 Charlie Poulton

During the Viking Age, trade routes existed between the north and the middle east. These radicals have no understanding of their own peoples' place in history. These billboards are simply trying to slap a bandaid on a gunshot wound. It is more symbolic than it is really going to have any effect. To treat the problem, there needs to be a change in mindset. The problem with that is that there is a lot of illiteracy in the areas where radicalism prevails making it difficult for the average person to actually figure out their own perspective through exploration of the faith. They rely instead upon the information provided. If that information is a message of hate, then that is all they have. If these people truly want to help, then they need to inform, not put up a roadside decoration.

Muslims demonstrate the true face of Islam in many places all over the world everyday and have been since the seventh century. To see what Islam really is you only have to study the life of their prophet and it was not peaceful.

there is a different between just words and action (in a nice way). In a bad with? they can always lie about being peaceful. :)

First of all, they will need to denounce the bad part of Islam .... and survive the death threat of their own Islamic brothers. Maybe then I can trust their words.
