Uniting in honor of Veterans Day

On Veterans Day, we all unite and honor the heroes who served our great nation. Veterans Day symbolizes the hope, freedom, and bravery, that our service men and women risked their lives to protect during war and peaceful times. On Veterans Day, November 11, 2020, let us join as one nation to pay tribute to all those military Veteran men and women who laid their life on the line and sacrificed for us all to live freely. Veterans not only deserve to be honored, but they should never be forgotten after they serve.

In light of this, I especially want to highlight the Veterans Affairs Women’s Health Transition Training program. This program is available to service women separating from the military. The training is an extension of the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) to inform service women about the health services available at VA and provide guidance and helpful resources to support them during the transitioning process!

More than 705 service women have taken the Women’s Health Transition Training across the biggest military installations around the country and overseas including Norfolk, Fort Bliss, Okinawa, Yokosuka, and the Pentagon this fiscal year. Due to the pandemic, all training sessions are now held virtually and are available twice per day through December 21, 2020. Participants are not limited to a training in a specific time zone and are welcome to sign up for any training that fits their schedule. Start times may vary. Each session is live and led by a woman Veteran who actively uses VA health care services.
