UK will help destroy Islamic State, David Cameron tells US - Is the UK going to take the lead in the fight against ISIS?

RP Members what do you think?

It is going to take the UK getting more involved in order for the United States to commit ground forces in the near future?

Do RP Members want the US to get more involved?

Do you think Cameron will get the UK to support a new strategy?

No tippy toeing around. This is a global problem. The US well is damn near tapped dry. No more Britain hanging out in Basra and marking the calendar. They need to go full on Falkland Islands. France needs to quit sitting on their derriere as well. Their country is starting to resemble the good old days of the Brits and the IRA going toe to toe every day. There are armed troops posting themselves all over the country.

SFC Mark Merino Great points Mark. France is really headed for a melt down anyway with their excessive taxation of businesses and their socialist government. I don't know if they will be able to help themselves. I see them headed in the "Greece" direction, but for different reasons.

SFC Mark Merino COL Mikel J. Burroughs The US is not tapped dry, we have forgotten how to elect leaders and leaders have forgotten how to lead.

I think the Middle East countries need to take out Isis. We should just financial/technical support. They need to step it up and not rely on us to be the sheriff for the world.

Their military is weaker than ever. They won't be able to do much even if they wanted. At most they will be a supporting partner.
