Typically how long does the OCS process take?

I can’t speak to the current process as I went through it in 1984 to 1990, But I applied four times. When I made the alternate list I was picked up within a week

The OCS boards are semi-annually. So that's every 6 months. So if you can get all of your packet together, which includes your letters of recommendation anything else that's needed for you to put together. It's been awhile since I put mine together, over 9 years. And then if you can make it in time for the upcoming board, you're complete. Make sure that you check the MILPER messages for the latest application information for in-service OCS. Now I'm specifically talking about federal OCS. Everything that you would possibly need is in that message, and those come out approximately every 6 months in order to prepare for the board.

That depends on a few things. Are you talking the Federal Program? Thats just a matter of throwing a packet together, getting chain of command approval and making the attrs reservation. Granted you will need a current chapter 2 physical and of course, meet all the requirements. Barring any hiccups on the moral/medical end, I usually can have a packet together and a reservation made in a few days. The Federal course is 90 days long.

If going Federal OCS: From packet submission to school attendance? Will take close to a year. My board was Dec 2014, board results came out in February 2015, received my ATRRS school date to attend September 2015.
