Curious what units an 88M at JBLM could be assigned to and what the day to day is. I've heard of 88M getting stationed there and not even doing 88M related tasks. Thanks!

Hopefully you go to 523. They have a more relaxed mission focused tempo. I’m about to leave 513th and there’s something off about the company. It’s one of the last line haul units and the misions are few and far in between so it’s a lot of idle motor pool type of days. Micromanaging and making sure a line is straight to the degree type. When missions do finally come rolling down most are in conjunction with 21st which means it’s going to be a long day waiting for their support to show up if it does. There’s a heavy focus on mrt, sharp and eo training with very little on convoy elements, driving, and overall soldiering. Ltt is normally never combat focused except for once in a blue moon and we are going on year 3 of no field. The unit has a funnel placed to gab people to mobilize soon. As a e4 in general you’ll be seen as a spc who they can blame for soldiers mistakes. The ncos are a tight knit community and typically have each others back vs stepping on eachother tho. The soldiers are stuck in a relaxed mindset so it can be frustrating coming from somewhere else or you’ll get a frustrated soldier coming from another unit because how things operate. A lot of the new soldiers coming from korea have stated they wish to go back to korea over being here. The base has a lot to do and surrounding area has a lot to offer when it’s not raining which is almost always. There’s beautiful off road running paths and hiking. The base is split in two so if you are married I suggest putting in for housing on north fort.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 20 at 2023 8:36 AM2023-03-20T08:36:50-04:002023-03-20T08:36:50-04:00SFC Steven Powell8333757

You probably be a assigned to a Transportation Company, garrison unit, no mission. Performing maintenance on your vehicle.Response by SFC Steven Powell made Jun 20 at 2023 8:46 AM2023-06-20T08:46:46-04:002023-06-20T08:46:46-04:002023-03-18T23:41:11-04:00
