How long does it take for a DA Select promotion to go through?

13A in the National Guard. I was DA selected for LTC. I am currently in an 05 slot. My state sent my promotion up to NGB almost 2 months ago. How long does it take to come back approved?

I can’t speculate as to exactly how long it will take, but assuming you already have your State Promotion Order, the process will be fairly quick since you are a DA Select. As a DA Select, you can forego the Federal Recognition process; being DA Select serves as your Federal Recognition. Hopefully this helps .

Sir, I was a DA select for CPT when I was in the ARNG. If it’s been there for 2 months, it could be any day now, as it just gets a rubber stamp from NGB after being DA select. I was able to find someone in JFHQ to ask about the status of mine when it was sent up. I would recommend going that route. Congrats on making LTC!

I spent ALL my career with ARG1 and always confused with the National Guard and their policies. Recommend you try to ARMY Reserve.

NG LG Officer. My promotion to 0-6 took 8 months last year. Sent in Feb, Fed Rec came back on 6 Oct 2021.

How long did the promotion order end up taking? I was DA select for O6 Aug 2021. I moved into an O6 command position 30 SEP 2022. Trying to gauge approximately when my order will be cut. Also, is the order backdated to the date I was placed in the O6 slot?
