A small group of Chinese Navy ships showed up near Alaska earlier this week during President Obama’s visit to the northern state, mostly as a “we’re here” message. But then, as the Chinese People’s Liberation Army marched in a Beijing parade, someone simultaneously put out this completely nuts video of a naval attack on an American fleet, and on an American base that looks suspiciously like the one on the Japanese island of Okinawa.

I think it is somewhat worrisome CSM Michael J. Uhlig. But it is primarily a propaganda video. Kind of reminds of the Last Ship TV show for some reason.

I am not worried about it. I am confident the U.S. and her allies could kill nearly every Chinese person in China if we wanted to. China might want to back off when it comes to making creditable threats. Their war gaming is nothing but a ferry tale cartoon.

China might want to go back and see what happened to the German and Japanese navies when they tried us. Germany learned that lesson twice; it didn't end well either time for either country.

Let's not panic here. It's easy to make a propaganda film showing yourself as the victor the reality is that Radar warning systems would notify us of their presence, they're disregarding the presence of our nuclear submarines, which would sink any Chinese invasion fleet, not only that but they would also have to face the might of the entire Pacific Command and there would be support from other countries as well.

Purely a muscle flex. An over zealous portrayal in situation that would not go down that way unless they were looking for an all out war. We could kiss planet good bye at that point this kind of provocation would end life as we know it.

They would have nothing to gain over doing this.

CSM Michael J. Uhlig Great video game for the kids to play with and the Chinese are great at making them, just like we are, but I doubt that any type of attack by China would result zero casualties for them and the US would be completely destroyed on all fronts. The Chinese love propaganda, so let them them have their games and videos. They are very depnedent on trade and commerce with the United States. They would hate to see that end with isolation like North Korea. I think we should just cut them off anyway and the businesses in America that are doing business with them would just have to lick their wounds. The good old capitalist way. Just my opinion!

CSM Michael J. Uhlig Looks like Nationalism works both ways. Video war gamers want to fight the most logical adversaries in war, this is just Chinese gamers trying to meet the demand of their domestic market.
I don't see the Chinese ships in Alaska, the Beijing parade and this Video as related in any way.
China is a potential adversary, as is Russia, NK and Iran, I am sure there are video gamers in these countries making the same type of games.
If you get into a fight with China in Asia and you look at the math on soldiers, you lose every time. If China has to project power via Navy and Air Force, now we are talking a fair fight.
We are at our best when we are working with and building alliances with Russia and China to defeat common threats like ISIS/ISIL.

I wounder what the Chinese...the World...could think of a similar video from half the video games kids are playing these days? Same might be said about a bunch of movies? For the record, the US does really have a team of special super heroes including two in iron suits that can fly.

Looks like propaganda but it might be propaganda directed more at the Chinese people to prepare them for what the Chinese leadership is thinking about. Having a supportive populace would be a help if a war that would probably kill millions were to be started. Plus I am sure that if the Chinese were to mount a massive surprise attack there would be some manufactured provocation. Maybe they would go so far as to bomb themselves somewhere, blame the US, attack. By the time anyone figured out what really happened it would be total war.
