The only practical use of points that I have seen is to keep people from rating others until they learn the ropes and get the minimum number of points.

It keeps people from bringing any flaming habits here from other social network sites - we operate on a more respectful plane here as a rule.

I don't know about y'all but, my NCOER has a quantifiable bullet of:

o 70 out of 33,000 SFCs on RallyPoint

I guess you can say things are getting pretty serious.
