This is a cool picture. My Dad, Chaplain (Col) Jim Woods, was an Army Chaplain for 28 years and went through WW2, Korea, and 1 tour in VN. When he was in WW2 and Korea, he carried a concealed Colt .45. When he went to VN, I was already there and gave him (our Armorer had some "spare parts") a Colt National Match .45 that he concealed with a shoulder holster and his Chaplain Assistant carried one similar. Dad used to say that he "never left home without it" even in his retirement.

Ha, Ha! I get it! I've been out of the Army for a few years. At first, I didn't know what it was until I saw MILES as one of the tags. I was used to seeing the "old style god gun" as shown below.

Now that is funny. While reading of the some of them who would pack heat. Reminds me of the old WWII movies, especially the Longest Day, where the two Paratrooper are behind cover and the Chaplain is walking about the battlefield with firefight going on, like no one else business giving last rights. Always had a great amount of respect for both Chaplains and Medics for their part of the mission fill. Without them no unit would last very long in the field.
