I chose coffee shortage. after two ex's, and a pending ex, I am still living. Although this last one just about done me in for a while.

I can see billions not functioning if there was ever a loss of coffee. Personally, I cannot function without at least a double first thing, then it is like a slow resurrection. By the time I hit number three, I am fully functional.

I think this started out as a fun Halloween thing, blew up into a couple ok B rated movies (some are ok...but get real....they are MOVIES), then started taking a life of its own. It is REALLY funny to listen to some of the fanatics....they are buying up all the ammo and stockpiling it like crazy. They are convinced it is a tool of the government, but that zombies will do all the damage.

Actually it will be a new drug craze that is impossible to detect with no ill effects UNTIL!!!. My buddy directed a movie called Potpourri which explains it better. I think it's on netflix or hulu. It basically fries your brain and gives you an insaciable appettite.

Lets for a moment say that a virus or pathogen could do what Hollywood thinks it can do. Humans would be fine, after the intial outbreak the zombies would be all but decimated. Romero would receive the Nobel Prize for the greatest public health campaign. Then a few weeks pass then the zombie rats with near matches toour immune systems would creep into our fortified positions and wipe out humanity.

i would have voted ex spouse......however I am still married. I have to admit that the institution of marriage takes the will to hunt out of those who choose to remove themselves from the wild. We become zombie like going thru our daily routines.....coffee is the perfect antidote.....not just the life giving juice, but the art of making it, the conversations that can be had when watching it brew or waiting for it to be handed to you by life saving barrista. The smell of it wafting across a crowded room is enough to spark the spirit back to the living. And it is comforting to see the old lions gather at the watering hole known as the conference room with the will to continue and persevere and proudly displaying their chalace filled with the elixir of life. Take the will to hunt away.....and take coffee away....well.....we all should just go behind the woodpile and give up.

Because I can't stop researching anything, I've discovered we are actually very close to both a "chocolate" and a "wine" shortage on a Global level. We will run out of those before we run out of Oil.

As Coffee is "similar" to both items... and I've seen the calming effects of having a fresh brewed pot of coffee during a Field Day Inspection... I have to lean towards that.
