The Red Cross landing at Normandy... were you aware they did this?

Capt Seid Waddell - Captain; Not to disparage the good work that the Red Cross did in the least, but the first group didn't land in Normandy until mid-July 1944 "after it was safe" and the groups that did land were "clubmobile" people who served coffee and donuts rather than actually "treating the wounded".
It's a great picture, but it's also 99.99% likely to have been a posed "photo-op". People simply don't land in a "combat zone" wearing saddle shoes.
