Ya, it was back in the 70s, 80s and early 90s. People use to have a great deal of respect for us, the authorities, and they had a strong sense of responsibilities and family values. Today, it's all up-side down. No one want to take responsibility for anything including their kids, and people are always blaming everything that happens on the schools, Police, and every other authority figure that is out there. We are all responsible for our own actions and we need to get back those family values that use to make a difference in our children's daily life. We got to wake up and stop blaming everybody else for our kids actions and get involved in what our children our doing. This "sink or swim" attitude just doesn't make it and we are seeing the consequences by seeing what is happening with our young people and many adults too. What's going on right now in our World and daily lives is not working and it is not acceptable. This bullshit attitude that my little Johnny or Suezy wouldn't do that is for the birds. We better wake up before it's too late and we loose it all. It really sucks the big one! Example in point, after a review of evidence the deputy was fired for having mishandled the student......now, that same school has had over 1,500 police/student interactions where the student was arrested and removed from campus....so the statistics are heavily in favor of almost all policemen acting correctly almost all the time. Anecdotal data, but none the less factual. Case in point, college professor who claimed she was 'stopped for walking black' and other nasty claims about the policeman's encounter with her - well review of the dash-cam evidence shows that not only where the officer courteous and professional and looking out after her safety, but that she was lying. Seems to be another case of 'hands up don't shoot' lying cry from Ferguson. What I see is the media taking incidents from around the country and putting a racist spin on many of the stories that are out there.

Are there bad cops? Absolutely! The problem is the publicity and social media jumping to conclusions about what is really going on. Was this officer out of line? Yes, I think he handled it incorrectly. Is he a dirt bag because of it? I seriously doubt it. He would not be in that position if he was a poor role model.

Another incident was the shooting in L.A. of a "homeless man" who was chased down the street by 4 police officers before he was shot to death. That story disappeared within 2 days when the media found out that he was an international criminal and he had taken a weapon off one of the officers and aimed it at the others. You couldn't see that in the video, but that was the truth of the matter.

Law enforcement, like the military are there to ENFORCE the laws, not make them. You don't call a police officer to handle a teenage girl who is being passively indignant with a teacher. He should never have been called. That is NOT why he is there. He is there to deter bad people from doing bad things. He is not the babysitter. The Principal or Guidance Counselor should have been the authority figure to deal with her. And guess what?
