I have long thought, SGM Private RallyPoint Member, that we're lucky if we know half the real truth about things that happen in world affairs, heck, even just things that make the news. When politics and politicians are involved, there's a tremendous need to keep the image and the electability of a person alive. (If they're not up for re-election or can't be re-elected, then it's the legacy.)

Then there are legitimate times when information is kept from the public, like when it's truly classified.
