No. As a current candidate, with Secret Service Protection, it would be less efficient to fly him, his staff, and his protection detail commercial and to travel in numerous smaller fuel efficient vehicles.

Without a doubt. At least Hillary is honest enough (stop laughing) display her wealth to the plebeians without any consideration about inequality of wealth, openly. Let them eat cake. Bernie is the poor man/woman/s candidate, while he has been a ward of the state nearly since he entered the workforce at the age of 40. And considering his net worth and current opulence provided by the presidential run, he is far more Democrat than Independent.

We are all hypocrites. But when someone is trying to force their ideas and concepts on others then don't practice what they preach, that is a real double standard. But his campaign is proof that socialism doesn't work... he's running out of other people's money.

I'm pro environment and believe in climate change as well. But I will certainly still take the plane to travel far distances because it makes sense.

Not. While Sanders is right to be concerned about the environment... he has not called on all Americans to stop driving SUV's or flying private jets. He has called on us to move away from fossil fuels at a faster pace and would likely support regulations that required manufacturers to make SUVs and private jets more fuel efficient... that is a far cry from saying we all need to turn to bicycles as our primary means of transportation.

What's the alternative? Commercial air and city bus? The logistics of it would cause tremendous inconvenience and long delays for all the other travelers on the plane as they would need to be individually screened and vetted before boarding. Sometimes you have to do things you'd prefer not to do in order to get your job done.

Of course it is hypocrisy. You can't lecture people on something and then do the very thing you are lecturing people about.

For example, I had a close relative lecturing me about the evils of the dairy industry and how I'm a monster for supporting this industry with my money. Then later on she's posting on Facebook how much she loves dairy products. But when I call her out on the blatant hypocrisy, I'm still the bad guy.

I understand the post, but have to challenge the premise: If CO2 represents no more than 25% of global greenhouse gasses (water vapor approximates 70%) and the burning of fossil fuels (planes, trains, trucks, cars, factories, etc.) contribute 4% of the annual CO2 released into the atmosphere (the other 96% is naturally occurring) how can we possibly control planet temperatures by focusing on 1% (4% x 25%) of the annual, global greenhouse gas production?

I question the point of the question. What other method of transit should he have taken, a VW bug to the airport and a bi-plane? Or, should he have taken a horse the whole way? How environmentally PC is it necessary to be to keep from being a hypocrite when it comes to carbon footprint issues?

To answer that question, I will present another question. Why does anybody drive cars to work? Bicycles are far healthier, cleaner, and less expensive. It's because you're competing with other people who are driving cars, not riding bikes. Similarly, Sanders is (unsuccessfully) competing with private get flying, SUV driving, liberal politicians.
