SWCC to make 3 separate warfare insignias - Basic, Senior, and Master - is this the right way forward?

SWCC is a brotherhood. Should there be distinctions?

Approval for the replacement of the Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewman (SWCC) insignia. Going forward, there will be three separate insignias to denote a Sailor's specific qualification level, which are SWCC basic, SWCC senior and SWCC master. The implementation date is Aug. 19, 2016, with a mandatory wear date of Oct. 1, 2016.

So they are going like the Diver, in some ways. You know they are doing somewhat for Seabees in Battalion now, if they have SCW and go back they have to get the EXW pin and I do understand why as now it will qualify you to go to other NECC commands and you will have a base knowledge. The thing is most of it is based of Seabee Warfare Basics, the only different thing is small boat combat stuff. They say the reason for this they want to let more Seabees have Coastal Riiverrine billets. It is funny this came up right after the Iran deal, as I think they said they need more personnel that live in that world and have a combat mind set. I said that in 2006 when formed NECC and wanted Riverine, but the problem was we were knee deep in Iraq and getting ready for the big push into AFG, so the they did not want to give billets to NECC. .

Just curious, why do some who wear the Enlisted Expeditionary Warfare Specialist badge think they are bad ass like SWCC or seals?

I've always wondered why SWCC doesn't get gold pins like the SEALS do -- the only pin, if I'm not mistaken, that enlisted and officers share the gold. SWCC training is focused differently than SEALS, but I don't think you'll find many SEALs that won't call them badass.

As far as I know, the pins represent training quals, not anything else. So therefore, no. It shouldn't be a single pin like SEALs. Since unlike SEALs...SWCC Officers and enlisted actually go thru different training last I heard
