Your responsibility to control your own destiny. Life doesn't happen TO you, you make it happen. If you made poor choices, you will suffer negative consequences and vice versa.

The purpose of life, if any at all, it determined by the one leading it. A purpose in life is distinctly optional. Some choose to have a mission, a goal, or an aspiration, while others float around or explore wildly. Some do not concern themselves with the future, whether others don't get concerned... ever. The best thing about life changes depending on whomever is speaking.

Life. If I knew the answer to what life was about, I would be both famous and rich, not that I want to be famous and rich. It is a mystery for all of us and all we can do is live by a creed that makes us honorable men and women. I have three simple beliefs, my God, my family, and my country and from those I try to live my life as God says I should, love and care for my family, and obey the laws of my country and serve the latter with honor and distinction.

Military life is like a box of crayons......the officers need them badly (otherwise we're are doomed to a litany of month long sessions of death by powerpoint that have absolutely no military value .... but wow the colors are pretty nifty and we can make all kinds of things happen! gee golly). However, the officers have no training in (a) staying in the lines aka staying in their own lane or (b) knowing when to stand at parade rest or attention or saluting or which fork to use while deployed out in the field - {note to self: finish that instruction manual for the MRE's - Officer Special - } or (c) when to leave the NCO's alone.

Where is the "Box of Chocolates" answer. Forrest's mamma said it best. We might never know what we are gonna get, but we can live it to the best of our ability. Do we want to "win" with the most money and stuff? Do we want to spend it trying to bring light into the world? To me THAT is how to live.

This may not sit well with the Christians, sorry, but to me life is an opportunity to learn lessons. Lessons learned lead to enlightenment over not one but many lifetimes. When true enlightenment is achieved, physical life is no longer needed. We then exist on a higher level.

Good survey question, SPC Charles Brown. Among the possible answers, I chose "Something that no one fully understands" because life is an amazing gift.

I disagree with people who say we exist because a ape transformed into a human being over a very long time (and that it started with some sea creature crawling out of the water). And they disagree with me when I say that God created man (and woman). So, "Something no one fully understands" seems the best answer for me.
