SPC David Willis 3311367

Every year POTUS walks out with 15-20 minutes worth of speech, 60 minutes of applause and grandstanding later all the major networks break it down to the level of a finely executed triple play in baseball. In my opinion the speech should stay, but undergo changes.

I would like to see the president give the speech from his desk at the oval office or perhaps from a podium in the rose garden or the "we got bin laden" hallway.

I would like no audience. We don't need republican or democrat members of congress bringing in guests that make statements. We don't need endless pauses for applause. We don't need partisan yawns. Just distribute a copy of the speech after its aired so if they don't want to watch it they can read it.

I would also like to watch my regularly scheduled programing on network TV, but I know that's too much to ask for so just give me the first two and if you want to throw in some gladiatorial combat to squash partisan beef that works too! State of the Union: should it stay, change, or go? 2018-01-31T16:58:43-05:00 SPC David Willis 3311367

Every year POTUS walks out with 15-20 minutes worth of speech, 60 minutes of applause and grandstanding later all the major networks break it down to the level of a finely executed triple play in baseball. That said, there is no requirement to deliver it as a speech. It could be a letter. It has turned into a highly stylized Kabuki performance. A President who so desired could hand write on a 8.5" by 11" yellow note pad, Kiplinger bullet format.

Executive Branch successes of the last year
Executive Branch Failures of the year with lessons learned.
Executive Branch Major actions in progress with updates.

Long-Term (10-20 years out)
Goals
Concerns
Suggested legislative action

Mid-Term (5-10 years out)
Goals
Concerns
Suggested legislative action

Short-Term (0-5 years out)
Goals
Concerns
Suggested legislative action

Any questions call me at the White House

Respectfully

The President.
