In an email to my congressman supporting Meadow's motion, I received a response:

Thank you for contacting me regarding your concerns with the Leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives. I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue and welcome the opportunity to respond.

As you may know, Congressman Mark Meadows (R-North Carolina) introduced House Resolution (H. Res.) 385 on July 28, 2015, only 2 days prior to the August District work period. Congressman Meadows had the option to bring this before the full House as a "Privileged Resolution," a procedure which would bring this resolution up for consideration immediately. Instead, Mr. Meadows chose to not bring the resolution up in this manner, and H. Res. 385 was referred to the House Rules Committee, of which I am a member. I urged the Rules Committee to send H. Res. 385 to the full House prior to the August District work period. This did not happen and no action has yet been taken.

The Speaker of the House is an office created by the U.S. Constitution itself. As such, a Member of the House of Representatives who intends to run for this position must take the time to prepare and present his or her intentions should he or she become Speaker – a position just 2 seats away from the Presidency. As someone who ran a leadership election in the past, I know how difficult this task can be. I have not received a single notice from any of my colleagues that they are willing to step up for this responsibility. There is no clear consensus on a specific candidate in the Republican conference to replace the Speaker. Without a clear replacement, removing the Speaker of the House would mean that Congress would be unable to address any of the critical issues that must be addressed during the 114th Congress.Response by Cpl Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 7 at 2015 11:06 AM2015-09-07T11:06:22-04:002015-09-07T11:06:22-04:00Maj William Gambrell951571

I don't know if he will get ousted, but I think he should be.
