Social injustice has been a topic of protests and many forums on this site. What needs to be talked about is how to fix it. What do we do?

The subject of social justice has been rearing its head pretty often lately. We live in a country where discriminating is illegal. We don't have any laws like segregation like we did in the 60s. What are we protesting against? What are the solutions? Lets come together instead of having a divide and solve this problem

Perhaps being honest and stop devisiveness from the top. First, someone needs to tell me specifically, what the expectations are with this social justice that hasn't been addressed up to now. What has the current leadership done that addresses this perceived issue?

Those "laws" may not be written, but it sure feels like it's still here.

First of all, people need to take their heads out of their butts and wake the heck up.
Oppression? Sure it exists. But when you have people who make tens of millions of dollars for playing sports saying they are oppressed, that is BS. When kids who attend expensive private universities say they are oppressed, they are mistaken. When Hollywood celebrities claim oppression from their private jets and multi-million dollar mansions, they are just pandering.

If you have been a slave, you have standing to claim oppression.

If you are simply parroting talking points just to sound hip or cool, you are an idiot. Does racial injustice still exist? Of course. The question becomes, "What are YOU doing to stop it?" If the answer is joining terrorist groups like BLM or NBPP, stopping traffic, rioting, looting, etc. then you are not only not part of the solution, but you are the problem.

Did Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. intend for future generations to do what they are doing now? Based on his actions when he was alive, I don't think so. I think he would be against all the violence, rioting, looting, etc. going on today. When you use terror tactics to fight oppression, it's like throwing a drowning person a bottle of water. Of fighting fire with a flamethrower.

To solve this problem, people need to step back and really re-evaluate what makes the most sense and what would make the largest POSITIVE impact in the effort to minimize oppression. You cannot fight injustice by committing unjust acts.

There is nothing we can do. Booker T. Washington predicted that there will be people who will make a living by keeping the past alive.

If there was a simple solution, it would have been presented already.

My solution? Stay out of crime ridden areas and teach my children the best I can about wants vs. needs (priorities), family values, respect for life, and the message of MLK that even today, those who are claiming to be perpetual victims don't seem to want to understand.

I keep on hearing more of the same from both sides and no one is answering the question specifically. There is a problem whether it is a perceived problem or not. The reason I know there is a problem is the fact that everyone is talking about it. I know we cannot control other people. I propose we control ourselves. Recognize some people believe this to be an issue and help prove that it is being worked on. This was never going to be settled in one generation. we all must do our part to help each other.
