So my question is, is there a base of NCOs out there who considered the idea but not pursued it? <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If Abingdon, VA isn&#39;t convenient to your HOR, consider Charlottesville, Alexandria, Roanoke or Lynchburg. There are USAR Drill Sergeant units there, as well, all of which have vacancies. Personally, I&#39;m partial to Charlottesville.<br /><br />r,<br />1SG Blount

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My first reserve unit was a Drill Sergeant unit. That&#39;s the only reason I came back. Sadly, it didn&#39;t work out. But I am so dedicated to the task of training tomorrow&#39;s warriors that I have begun comms with a unit in the next state. They have a consistent track record of sending candidates, and I am just waiting until I am eligible for a transfer. It&#39;s like waiting for christmas, but it has been my only goal since joining the Army. So it is worth it.
