The Army is obviously in need of more Drill Sergeants right now, as the current issue of Army Times clearly points to. So my question is, is there a base of NCOs out there who considered the idea but not pursued it? Maybe you're looking for a new home in the Army Reserves?<br /><br />I'm about to wrap up my first AT as Company Commander with B Co 1-320/3/98th here at Fort Jackson and I have to say, it's a lot of fun watching these guys work and seeing the Drill Sergeant from the "not so scary side."So you want to be a Drill Sergeant?2014-09-20T20:05:55-04:001LT Private RallyPoint Member249112<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Reservist? There are USAR Drill Sergeant units there, as well, all of which have vacancies. Personally, I'm partial to Charlottesville.<br /><br />r,<br />1SG BlountResponse by 1SG Michael Blount made Feb 8 at 2015 2:41 PM2015-02-08T14:41:32-05:002015-02-08T14:41:32-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member463393<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My first reserve unit was a Drill Sergeant unit. That's the only reason I came back. Sadly, it didn't work out. But I am so dedicated to the task of training tomorrow's warriors that I have begun comms with a unit in the next state. They have a consistent track record of sending candidates, and I am just waiting until I am eligible for a transfer. It's like waiting for christmas, but it has been my only goal since joining the Army. So it is worth it.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 8 at 2015 3:02 PM2015-02-08T15:02:02-05:002015-02-08T15:02:02-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member1191497<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The struggle is realResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 22 at 2015 11:35 AM2015-12-22T11:35:15-05:002015-12-22T11:35:15-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member1192216<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Sure do!Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 22 at 2015 6:21 PM2015-12-22T18:21:13-05:002015-12-22T18:21:13-05:002014-09-20T20:05:55-04:00
