Interesting. Made me look up different pics.
In his portrait he has them in order.
Likely a military history expert on here who knows if the order was based on some significance.
The Patton Society page has his awards and decorations during different periods.

Yeah, I was going to say to blame his ADC. I wouldn't think it was the job of an officer of his grade and reputation to check his ribbons, just to put on the coat (with the help of his aide) and headgear and go out there.
