So what does everyone think of the proposed Marine Dress Blue Cover Change?

I personally think that with all the negative attention it has received in the last day nothing will likely change. The costs in this period of downsizing will likely force reconsideration (the cost to adopt the smaller cover would be 8 million versus issuing the male style cover would be 285 thousand). I just don't think it makes much sense to make a change like this when they are trying to reduce the number of Marines serving when there are other areas that could use more attention that would actually affect Marine mission readiness, and possibly save the careers of great Marines.

I would not put anything past this government of members of the Chicago mob. They will go for the 8 million contract because it means at least 1.5 to 2 million in kickbacks by the Obama supporters who will get the contract

You don't mess with the best looking uniform in the world! The cost is a needless expenditure of money that could be better utilized by the military elsewhere. The idea totally sucks!

They're just looking for a replacement for the female cover, not the male. The manufacturer of the female cover went out of business, so the Corps was weighing its options. They are also looking at the women just adopting the male cover. While I was at the Marine Barracks for Lt.Gen Williams retirement, all the females assigned there wore the male cover. It looked good. I imagine they'll go with that.

Even though I don't have a dog in this fight, I think this is one of the stupidest ideas I have ever seen come from the USMC leadership. Just looks to me like Political Correctness gone insanely wild. Somebody needs a good slap across the face and some reality injected again. Yikes!!!
