Since the speech excerpts were released just after the WaPo story was breaking, I'd say they were an attempt to distract attention from the Trump video.

We are getting into the muck of the muck. Politics this year is down and dirty. I really don't know anyone who might have something in their past that can be smeared around for these types of reasons. I'm guessing many of us have said things years ago if brought up now we would not like so well.
As far as Clinton goes, nothing surprises me. There are two sides to every story, but at least Trump does not have the blood of other on his hands.

I agree, I would not let trump date my daughter....
But see im not looking to have him date my daughter,,, Im looking to have him keep HRC away from the white House ..and for that task, I find him reasonable sufficient from the available options at hand.

None of that impacts his ability to make decisions as the POTUS.

HRC is a pathological liar, un charged and convicted as if yet for her clearly criminal actions you or I would have been charged and convicted of by now...

Of course I think the Clinton campaign was holding on to that recording to try and deflect the leak. Just because I think she is a criminally "negligent" person who would never pass a background check doesn't mean i think she or her campaign staff are dumb. They needed to have something to deflect the heat.
