There are numerous ways to do this. Highly suggest Khan Academy on YouTube for the math portion. The reading is just plain reading; read up on historical events and other readily available resources through your library. The card is free and the improvement will be vast.

Which portion are you lacking on? GT = AR + VE (which is WK+ PC)

- Arithmetic Reasoning (AR)
- Word Knowledge (WK)
- Paragraph Comprehension (PC)

If you know your current scores, you can figure out which one is "dragging you down," and then focus on that. Basically go after the low hanging fruit so to speak.

Next as mentioned in one of the responses below which is the main problem area for you quantitative or verbal. Also to try to help you aß much as possible if you could possibly elaborate further questions about specifics of what general type of work you actually do and how technical or verbal it actually is so far as you might be comfortable explaining as well as how much school you've had and what specific subjectsmand or majors as well as numbers of college credits and in what specific topics as well as your ultimate preferences and or objectives all of that would be a very major help assuredly. Next look at http://www.excelsior.edu in Albany NY which is extremely highly involved with military students and is very military friendly. Also look at http://www.uopeople.edu a new and recently distance learning accredited nearly free online school I've mentioned on here for other questions similar to yours. I know they have associates and bachelors in bus admin and comp sci as well as a new MBA though I don't know if military would accept them yet or if it's been asked. The main attraction of them is that they apparently have no costs other than admin and exams there was is evidently no tuition as it was expressly started I gather to make higher educ universallY affordable worldwide pro ratIng the admin and exam costs by mean income for a given country I think. Look at MIT Open Courseware or OCW and Udacity as well as a group called student veterans of America I think it's called. I'll try to send more in a few mins.

There are some approaches I've used in the past for standardized exams. Get any of the standard GRE general and also specific subject books by Barrons or ARCO. The GRE is much more advanced than the SAT and given your apparent age and obvious maturity far more suitable I think you'd find. Look also at other standardized exam prep texts like the Miller analogy test there's also another standard exam for business applicants I can't recall it right now however. And get texts on the LSAT for law school applicants not because you'd necessarily want to go in that direction but because of the level of the verbiage and quantitative prep involved. The GRE general and subject tests I've imply walked into in the past with no prep for real just on the off I'd do decently and or to gauge my level. Also excelsior.edu at one point in an earlier version of the program affiliated with NY state would grant 30 pass fail credits for a specific minimum raw score not a mini!um percentile. I did that with their engrg exam no longer available I think and with their math and physics exam the physics was extremely rough I needed three tries to pass though I did get a second Bach in math from excelsior by passing all three. Also a good friend of mine did the earlier NY state version of excelsior for a Bach in math transferring in credits from three difrnt schls and was accepted for an ocs program so I know and have read they're very very real I assure you. Look also at the DANTES program and also communication college of the air force CCAF which I'd read I think accepts enlisted applicants possibly from other services. If you've gone through any tech schools while in as an AGR look at the amer council on educ or ACE as they have I think k the definitive listing of what all military courses are rated for in terms of credits issuable. Also I cannot overemphasize the value of serious reading as a means of developing vocabulary grammar and syntax. II am speaking of serious classical publicly available literature especially such authors as Dickens hemimgway steinbeck and numerous others I could suggest if you'd be at all interested. For writing you might think this an odd suggestion however letter writing especially in the course of your actual work with is an excellent way to learn to be expository in a coherent fashion if you're required to give a writing sample. You should have any written material you're reqd to generate critically by someone who knows what they're doing as to grammar and syntax as well as how to frame an idea. Then too with the ARCO and Barrons prep books you need to learn how to drill!with them properly. I've generally found that a flash card approach is frequently best done though this might seem odd also in front of a mirror oddly enough. And multiple choice exams from review texts I'd generally run off and make keyed and unkeyed versions. Further I would also go for any programs to increase reading speed if you might have any urban areas near you with avail programs I can suggest more about that if you'd care to hear it all.

Ok, so you are likely much older and wiser than when you originally took this test. By the time I needed to up my score to apply for a Warrant officer program I had gone through years of different schools and had developed well study habits and had learned how to clear my plate in order to study without distraction. I bought a Petersons Asvab study guide with an included math booklet. (Because the EL score was what I needed to up the most) I sat down and studied this thing for basically a month, maybe an thirty minutes to an hour a day and the big thing, I got a math tutor to help me through some of the Algebra order of operations problems. Anyhow, I legit studied a lot of different stuff from the book and used the included disc to take practice tests several times. When I took the test again I pretty much had 130's across all those individual scores and my AFQT went to a 91. It worked well in my opinion. I'd say there are no real easy ways to get these scores better, but a little study for a month wasn't too bad. Good luck.

Do you need or project to need a standardized test in the coming future? If so study primarily for your SAT, GRE, GMAT, etc and in doing so you'll boost your GT score as an add-on.
