Since I ETS in February of 2022, and I have ETS orders, can the orders be deferred so that my unit can force me to go to NTC in October?

Yes you can still go to NTC. 4 months time separate October and February. Plenty of time to get back and clear. And, you aren't being FORCED to go. You're being ordered to go.

Why would the orders even need to be deferred? You have plenty of time to do both. You can return from NTC in November and still have plenty of time to out-process prior to your ETS in February. I suppose you want to take terminal leave, but the command isn't required to authorize a huge amount of terminal leave, especially if that amount would prevent you from attending a major training exercise.

How long is the training schedule in NTC? I couldn't imagine you being gone for so long you can't ETS on schedule. You have plenty of time between now and October to attend classes and briefs. I'm guessing you'll have enough time after NTC to finish out before your ETS. I would get with your Plt Sgt and walk through everything to make sure you have everything planned out.

To answer your original question, yes your ETS can technically be deferred by the way of stoploss but that isn't what is happening.

Sounds like you're trying to get out of NTC! Don't blame you, but ain't gonna happen. You're heading to the Cali desert, just like everybody else said, there is plenty of time between a 30-45 day rotation and your ETS date.

No your orders can not be deferred they would have to extend you with documentation of it and that’s to much paperwork for them so they would have to keep you in rear D unless your ETS is after they get back and still gives you time usually 2/3 weeks to clear yes you can go to NTC

Have fun at the desert! Unless you have a medical condition that prevents you from training; otherwise you will be at the Mojave, it is only 14 days in the box, suck it up and drive on.
