SPC Private RallyPoint Member7136590<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe I’ll have to be released from the Guard to go active duty and then go through the street-to-seat program. Hardest thing will probably be trying to find a recruiter to help me on the packet since there is little reward for them to do so. I love flying, I have around 300 hours fixed wing and a commercial pilots license with an instrument rating. I want to have purpose when I go to work in the morning and the missions I’ve done in the Army have been very fulfilling so far and would be better if I could fly! Any answers and advice would be great appreciated.Since I am currently in the National Guard, and want to go AD for WOFT, will I have to ETS first?2021-07-27T10:30:42-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member7136590<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe I’ll have to be released from the Guard to go active duty and then go through the street-to-seat program. You could also just apply to the NG flight program as wellResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 27 at 2021 11:23 AM2021-07-27T11:23:38-04:002021-07-27T11:23:38-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member7136757<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No need to ETS. Get all your testing done, get your packet done and submitted. There is no issue for this at all. You will go to WOCS and if you pass that you go to flight school. Once you pass you will be given a new contract as a Warrant Officer to be either Active or NG. <br />*this is what I was trying like 10 years ago, but my waivers stacked up to well beyond what the Army wants.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 27 at 2021 11:32 AM2021-07-27T11:32:35-04:002021-07-27T11:32:35-04:00CW2 Private RallyPoint Member7138026<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My Father transferred active duty USA enlisted to USAF Officer/Pilot. Later I was able to transfer active duty USAF enlisted to US Army, attended WOFT, finished career and retired. I don't see why you shouldn't as well! Keep in mind though a lot of people told me "You Can't Do That". Do the research, find the applicable regulations, and show them "YES" it can be done and has been done! CBPO has the package, it takes a while to obtain all needed, including recommendations from as high rank as you can get O-5, O-6, O-7 CWO's...etc. I can't tell you selection time line but when I did it the entire process was about 14 months!Response by CW2 Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 27 at 2021 6:50 PM2021-07-27T18:50:39-04:002021-07-27T18:50:39-04:00LTC(P) Christina Moore7138770<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The Active Army Recruiter should guide you on how to accomplish that transition. I’ve been trying to get one from my unit and seems like extra work nobody wants to do. Change the plan but never the dream!Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 3 at 2021 4:33 PM2021-08-03T16:33:59-04:002021-08-03T16:33:59-04:002021-07-27T10:30:42-04:00
