Sounds like allowing the inmates to run the asylum. Children don't know what they need to know to be successful in life. They need guidance. It is up to responsible adults to shape their education until they are capable of making good decisions for themselves. No, I don't think grade school children should have control over the curriculum. In the main, I'd tend to agree with manynhere that kids at that age are far too young, in my view, to be allowed complete freedom over their curricula. That being said, individual projects could certainly be fostered to account for individual interests, and level of intelligence, I should think, that's why show and tell exists, however, under very close and qualified supervision, not purely as a matter of solely their own individual choices. I'd gladly expand on my reasoning, if you'd care to hear more, for the moment, however, that's about as far as my reasoning takes me, I do perceive, I think, your motivation in asking, however, hope was of some use, many thanks. And in doing this, we can get a better idea of how to make sure that they get a education they live, don't get board doing. Ect ect.
