Should we be prepared this time for another pandemic or should we underrate monkey pox like we did on the onslaught of Covid-19?

There have been monkey pox cases reported here in India and the first death due to monkey pox has occurred in Mumbai recently. Monkey pox is a real medical situation, which doctors claim can be cured with Small pox treatment. Indeed; many other countries have reported cases of monkey pox too. However, where this virus will develop into another pandemic is unclear yet.

After the onslaught of Covid-19, the U.S., under former President Donald Trump, declared this serious medical situation that was claiming lifes, even in the U.S. as the "Chinese Flu" and the "Wuhan Plague" mobilizing medication for treatment of waterborne diseases. If the U.S. and other countries, including India, underrate the onslaught of another pandemic, we will be the biggest losers of the modern world; we would be a civilization that never learnt from its mistakes.

First off, Monkey Pox is not a novel virus, it's well documented and the treatments are known. Second, it requires physical contact with the infected person to transmit the disease. And last, in the US and Western Europe, it so far has been restricted to homosexual men. It's the simple reason that SF is the US hotspot.

Kind of an apples and oranges thing, what the two have in common is that they are contagious diseases. Monkey Pox is a known virus with existing vaccines, that wasn't the case with Covid. If the previous administration hasn't politicized response tooutbreaks of any disease this conversation wouldn't even be happening.

My personal belief is, this was more hype and bullshit than disease. The governmen t controls the media which comes out and tells us, you go down and take your shot like good little boys abd girls or you will not be a good citizen. I am 65 years old and have COPD and have never had the shot ands won't get one. The government lied about the numbers of deaths from COVID, the CDC lied about hos effective the vaccine was. It is all bullshit and I am not buying it. Why didn't they jump up and down about the Swine flu, Bird flu or any of the rest of them, they were just as bad if not worse. This is an exercise in controlling people. If you are told to do something by the media, will you do mit? With no proof or manufactured proof, will you jump on the bandwagon? If you do this, will you obey when they send out the next scare tactic? How about giving up your guns? Getting rid of the Constitution? Where will you finally say, no kore, I draw the line. They told you to go get the vaccine that will keep you healthy, that didn't work, some people still got it. Then it was oops, sorry, it didn't work, take this shot, that will fix it. It didn't work either. They are now on the 5th vaccine and it won't work either. The truth is, if they could stop COVID, they could stop the flus and colds entirely. I have asked healthcare professionals for years why we can't cure a cold or flu. Tey all say the virus is too small to see and incubates too fast, but now all of a sudden, over night we have a cure, but it only works on one type of COVID. Also, if you wear a dust mask made for sawdust, the virus can't get to you. Really!? The virus is too small of use to see in their microscopes, but something that would look like the iceberg that sunk the Titanic in their microscopes can't get past the mask and neither can this virus? There are too any inconsistencies and lies for me to swallow. I was an NCO. I had troops under me. That meant I had to think. I learned as a private from old Vietnam vets not to follow anyone or anything blindly. Apparently that is precisely what the government wants you to do. Just shut up and take the shots. on't ask questions, just believe us. Sorry, it isn't going to happen. On top of all this they tell you to stay in your homes and don't go outside. When I went to basic training, they were worried about meningitis. If one troop got it, the entire barracks would have it in nothing flat. The very first thing they did, the minute someone felt anything like the symptoms of a cold or flu was to open the windows and let the fresh air in. Why? The next time you make a cup of coffee, put a little water in it. It will still look like coffee, but you keep adding water to the cup, and pretty soon, you have a cup of water, not coffee. Viruses are the same way. the more room they have, the less concentrated they become. You body, if you have a healthy immune system can fight off so many, but concentrated they can take over.
Think for yourselves and because you see it on the news does not mean it it all the facts. They ntell you what they want you to know.

If you get a smallpox vaccination for monkey pod..why isn't it smallpox?we all had small pox vaccintions as children..what population is getting monkey pod..does anyone know?

Monkey pox is an STD it’s transmitted mainly between men pretty easy not to get without medication. It’s 100% Preventable without medication just like pregnancy. Keep it zipped!

Monkey pox is transmitted in very specific, personal & intimate ways.
The Rona wasn't.

90% of the Rona deaths were those 50 or older; more than half of all deaths were in those older than 65. 94% of all Rona deaths had comorbidities.

Kind of like being picked off by a DM or a sniper: you appeared in those sights & were specifically chosen, vice getting caught in a barrage of "To whom it may concern" artillery. You're making much ado about nothing IRT monkey pox.
