No. Mandatory anything is not freedom or liberty it is totalitarianism. Liberty is choice, "mandatory" is thee polar opposite. This is not surprising from the President who brought us the "mandatory" requirement that all united States citizens have health insurance or be fined.

"I only vote Democrat" or "I only vote Republican" or "I voted for him because he could be our first black President" or "I'm going to vote for her because she could be our first woman President" . . .

Only if you want Tom Brady, Kanye West, Bill Oreilly, Ron Jeremy, or any other celebrity type fool to possibly get elected...

No. It should be a choice. ....I wish more people would get out and vote....and I wish people would not vote straight ticket. More people should take the time to get to know the candidates and then make an informed decision on who will be better in this position. Unfortunately most people do not take the time....but they sure find the time to whine and complain about things. lol

God no; voter apathy's probably the only thing stopping things from being worse than they already are. The fundamental weakness of a democratic system is that the quality of the politicians that get elected and the laws they pass will never be better than what can be gotten over on the stupidest, most ignorant and dependent 51% of the electorate. Given what I've read about average American understanding of economics, history and the Constitution, I think voter apathy's great.
