i personally believe people shouldn't burn or step on or rip up the flag. freedom of speech & exspression is a good thing but i dont see why harming our flag is part of it

People call doing that "exercising free speech/expression". I say BS. There's nothing in the first amendment that talks about "expression" and free speech isn't freedom to be an a-hole.

Yup, we don't have to like it or go along with it, but the police should not arrest someone for burning a flag. Now if they want to arrest them for starting an uncontrolled fire without a permit its now a public safety issue and I'm ok with that as well...

The supreme court has spoken on this matter. I don't like it, but, it has been decided.

Note nothing in the supreme courts decision says I do not have a right to voice my objection to the ones doing this.

Yes, it's called "freedom". However, assaulting someone just because your feelings are hurt is a crime. If you can't handle that, there are some dictatorships that I believe you would enjoy.

SCOTUS says.....yes. Sadly, and it hasn't always been so, but we defend people's rights under Constitution. Start choosing which one's to take away and it may not end well.

No its illegal. 18 U.S. Code § 700 - Desecration of the flag of the United States; penalties
. (1) Whoever knowingly mutilates, defaces, physically defiles, burns, maintains on the floor or ground, or tramples upon any flag of the United States shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both.
(2) This subsection does not prohibit any conduct consisting of the disposal of a flag when it has become worn or soiled.
